Crochet Headband

Stay stylish and warm with this easy to make crochet headband. Using our Tailor Luscious yarn makes this headband full, comfy, and beautiful!


1 skein of Tailor Yarn Luscious – Glacier
6.5mm/ US K/ Crochet hook


ch – chain stitch
hdc – half double crochet
rep – repeat
rem – remaining
sl st – slip stitch
st(s) – stitch(es)
t – turn
3L hdc – 3rd loop half double crochet


Circumference: 22″
Width: 4″

The headband is made up of 4 separate strands braided together.
3L hdc – yarn over, insert hook into the 3rd loop of the stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through all 3 loops on hook.


ch 72

Row 1 hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook and all rem sts, ch2 (70)

Row 2 3L hdc in each st across (7)

Fasten off and weave ends.

Repeat for a total of 4 strands

Chainstitch 72

half double crochet in the 3rd chainstitch from the hook and all remaining stitches.

Chainstitch 2

3L hdc in each st across

Fasten off and weave ends. Repeat for a total of 4 strands

Headband Assembly

Line up all four strands, right side up. Attach yarn to the last strand. Slipstitch evenly across the top edge of all four strands. Chainstitch 2, turn.

Row 2: Half double crochet in each stitch across. Turn
Row 3: Slipstitch in each stitch across, chainstitch 2. Turn
Row 4: Repeat rows 2 and 3

Place right sides up and use the diagram in our handout to braid your strands. Pin the ends in place.

Repeat above Rows 1-4. Leave a 10″ tail and fasten off.

Use the tail to stitch ends together. Fasten off and weave tail in.
