Quilt Along: Block 11

Welcome to Block 11 of our Quilt Along!! There are printable instructions and a video tutorial! If you want even more interaction join us every Wednesday on our Facebook page www.facebook/FabriclandWest for a live sew-along were we will go over the two blocks for the week and answer any questions you might have.

Block 11 is a french braid block.

Instructions

  1. You will need 6 colors or patterns. From 5 colors (B),(C),(D),(E),(F) cut 2 1/2″ x WOF strips, sub-cut 2 pieces 2 1/2″ x 12 1/2″. From the last color (A) cut 2 1/2″ x WOF strips, sub-cut 2 pieces 2 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ and 1 piece 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

2. Sew (1) A square to (1) B square.

3. Sew (1) F to AB

4. Sew (1)C to ABF

5. Continue sewing strips on alternate sides matching the bottom edges as shown.

6. Rotate 135 degrees and cut a 12 1/2″ square.
