Party Decorations
We threw our 43rd Birthday party and had to share our tips for making a successful birthday display! From the backdrop to the goodie bags we stuck to a bright, fun, rainbow theme.
Backdrop
For the backdrop, we used 5 metres of each colour in nylon taffeta. Each strip is 2.5m long by 6″ wide (give or take, don’t worry about cutting perfect). We then tied each strip end to the top of the display. Play around with different colours and fabrics to achieve the perfect look.
Table Runner
We created two table runners for our display table. Each runner was 1m long by the width of the fabric, and we used a white twill as our base. We then topstitched 1″ ribbon onto the runner.
Goodie Bags
What’s a party without some goodies! We created colour themed goodie bags full of all our favourites! The clear PVC bags are a fun way to display your goodie bags, you can also have your guests decorate them to take home.
Balloons
Wrap helium-filled balloons in lightweight tulle. Depending on the quality of the helium your balloons might not be able to handle the weight of the tulle. Simply tape them to your backdrop or tie them to the backdrop stand.
Tulle Pom Poms
Create these giant tulle pom poms to hang from the ceiling or backdrop stand. Cut your tulle into strips measuring 7.5m x 6″. For the large pom poms cut two circles from cardboard with a 20″ diameter. Cut a smaller circle from the center with a 4″ diameter. For the small pom poms cut two circles from cardboard with a 14″ diameter. Cut a smaller circle from the center with 3″ diameter.
