Quilted Table Runner

Celebrate Hanukkah with our brand new Festival of Lights collection. Full of warm colours and traditional images the possibilities with this collection are endless!
We used it to make a classic quilted table runner. This pattern can be switched out with any fabric collection you have on hand or your eye on!

  • Fabric A – Festival Fun – Royal – 0.2m *
  • Fabric B – Menorahs and Stars – Medium Blue – 0.2m *
  • Fabric C – Dreidel Fun – Light Blue – 0.2m *
  • Fabric D – Festive Words – White – 0.2m *
  • Fabric E – Light Show – Medium Blue – 0.5m
  • Fabric F – Light Show – Sky Blue – 0.5m
  • Fabric G – Menorahs and Stars – Navy – 0.5m

Binding – Fabric A – Festival Fun – Royal – included

Backing – Fabric H – Dreidel Fun – Navy – 1.8m

* Alternative Option: Ignore fabrics B-D and use:
Fabric A – Festival Fun – Royal – 0.4m

Cutting Instructions

Please note: All strips are cut across the width of fabric (WOF) from selvedge to selvedge unless otherwise noted.

From Fabric A-D cut:
(1) Fussy Cut 61/2” x 61/2” square

From Fabric E-F cut:
(2) 31/2” x WOF strips. Sub cut:
(8) 31/2” x 31/2” strips
(8) 31/2” x 61/2” strips

From Fabric G cut:
(3) 21/2” x WOF strips. Sub cut:
(5) 21/2” x 121/2” strips
-Sew remaining strips together end to end and sub cut:
(2) 21/2” x 581/2” strips

Block Assembly

Seam Allowance 1/4″

1. Sew (1) E 31/2″ x 31/2″ square right side together with (1) F 31/2″ x 31/2″ square. Repeat for all remaining E – F 31/2″ x 31/2″ squares.

2. Sew (1) E/F rectangle right sides together with (1) A square.
3. Turn (1) E/F rectangle in the opposite direction and sew right sides together with A square.

4. Sew (1) E 31/2″ x 61/2″ rectangle right side together with (1) F 31/2″ x 61/2″ rectangle. Repeat for all remaining E – F 1/2″ x 61/2″ rectangles.

5. Sew (1) E/F rectangle right sides together with (1) A square.
6. Turn (1) E/F rectangle in the opposite direction and sew right sides together with A square to create Block A


7. Repeat steps 1-6 replacing A with B, C & D until you have 4 blocks.

*Alternatively, replace B, C & D with A squares for (4) Block A

Runner Layout

  • Use Runner Layout for block location
  • Sew rows together and square up top and bottom edge
  • Layer and quilt as desired
  • Bind as desired
