Snowy Woods: Cushion Covers

Materials

Fabric A

Snowflake Aqua – 0.5m

Fabric B

Forest Green – 0.2m

Fabric C

Block Repeat – Multi – 1 Panel/ 1 Block per cushion

Cutting Instructions

Please note: All strips are cut across the width of fabric (WOF) from selvedge to selvedge unless otherwise noted.

From Fabric A cut:
(1) 16 1/2″xWOF strips. Sub cut:
(1) 16 1/2″ x 16 1/2″ square *for zip closure*
(2) 10 1/2″ x 16 1/2″ rectangle *for button closure*
(8) 1 1/2″ x 16 1/2″ rectangles

From Fabric B cut:
(2) 1″xWOF strips. Sub cut:
(4) 1″ x 16 1/2″ rectangles

From Fabric C cut:
(1) 11 1/2″ x 11 1/2″ block per panel

Pillow Assembly

Sew (1) A to (1) B to (1) A together. Repeat for a total of 4 units.

Center your first ABA strip on your pillow block. Stitch right sides together, starting 1/4″ in and ending 1/4″ early.

Repeat with one side piece.

Create a mitered corner. To do this fold your cushion right sides together matching the bottom left point to the top right point. Draw a line across your ABA strips that follows the diagonal line of the cushion. stitch across this line. Trim excess fabric and press.

Repeat with remaining sides.

Option 1: Zipper

Attach an invisible zipper to your cushion front and (1)A 16 1/2″ x 16 1/2″ square. Stitch the remaining sides right sides together.

Option 2: Button Closure

Take (1) 10 1/2″ x 16 1/2″ rectangle, Fold (1) 16 1/2″ edge back 1 1/2″ press and stitch.
Repeat on the remaining 101/2″ x 161/2″ rectangle.
Sew (1) 10 1/2″ x 16 1/2″ rectangle to Pillow front to (1) 10 1/2″ x 16 1/2″ rectangle.

Fold the edges in right sides together, making sure they over lap, stitch across the top to secure.
Turn right way out and add button holes and buttons to the overlapping strip.
