DIY of the month: Cabin Christmas Quilt
Our Cabin Christmas Quilt pattern is a beautiful traditional holiday quilt. Using the Christmas at the Cabin quilting collection we created our snowflake crystal block. This is a Queen sized quilt but can easily be modified for smaller quilts.

Block Assembly
For this quilt we will be repeating this block with 18 different combinations. We will be showing you how to create the block using Fabric A & D.
Place (1)A 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ square right sides together with (1)D 1 1/2″ x 4″ rectangle.
Mark a diagonal line on (1)A from corner to corner and sew along the line.
Trim excess and press open. Repeat for a total of (4) units.
Repeat the above steps but change the orientation of the sewing line. Repeat for a total of (4) units.
You should have 4 of each direction for a total of 8 rectangles.
Sew (1)A 4″ x 4″ square (1)D/A. Repeat for a total of (4) units.
Sew (1)A/D to (1)A 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ square. Repeat for a total of (4) units.
Sew (1)A/D A to (1) A D/A. Repeat for a total of (4) units.
Sew (1)A/D D/A to (1)A 1 1/2″ x 5″ rectangle, turn (1)A/D D/A 90 degrees clockwise and sew. Repeat for a total of (2) units.
Sew (1)A/D A D/A to (1)A 1 1/2″ x 10″ rectangle to (1)A/D A D/A turned 180 degree clockwise. This will complete your block.
